Once upon a time, in a land called Cartersville, Georgia, there lived a girl who would watch movie musicals all day just so she could memorize every word and note by heart. The first movie to catch her attention was the 1989 version of ANNIE and by the age of two was belting out the lyrics to "Tomorrow" in the bath tub.
There was never a time in her life that she didn't want to perform. She of course grew up doing the activities that most children do, like soccer, bike riding, roller blading, anything that could keep her active outside - but something always brought her back to the stage. She grew up in a musical family with her dad playing in many different jazz and rock bands, her mom an elementary music teacher, and both older sisters involved in theater, dance, choir and marching band. But what became her niche was dance. Ballet began for her at the age of six and it sparked the performer in her that she carries herself with today.
While dancing at the ballet studio five days out of the week studying ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, and contemporary, she was able to keep up with her other passion of singing. When given the chance, Erin Leigh was singing a solo in church, performing in a local talent show, singing in the school choirs, or throwing a concert for her stuffed animals in her room. Though she no longer feels the need to be the next Hannah Montana, Erin Leigh has never once doubted that performing is what she wanted and needed to do in her life.
The love for musical theater began in high school as she joined the elite performer troupe as a freshman. The first musical she participated in was "South Pacific" and although she was only as ensemble member, she had the time of her life and continued with the troupe until her high school graduation. While in the troupe she quit dancing at the studio due to conflicting schedules, but she was able to continue her dancing as she was the troupe's dance captain for three years.
After graduating with her BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Tampa in December of 2016, Erin Leigh continued to reside in the Tampa Bay area until she was able to sail the world traveling onboard a cruise ship. Erin Leigh continues her career in Florida and beyond, going wherever the business takes her.
When she's not performing, you can find Erin Leigh doing many different activities - as she hates to spend her time just sitting around. She is mainly the one to host parties for her array of friends, making sure they can all come together for a game night or two. She is a gold card member at Starbucks, and her favorite drink of the moment is an Almond Milk Latte with the Blonde Espresso, a pack of honey and cinnamon powder on top. Her mornings start with yoga or a run on the treadmill and ends with watching Jane the Virgin. The best part of any day is knowing that she accomplished at least one thing on her to do list. She hopes one day to be the proud owner of a baby miniature goat.
